ANIMATION
Animation is rooted in traditional non-verbal visual communication principles, ensuring that the emotions of a scene are clear even without audio. This strengthens the core elements of animated storytelling. A strong grasp of silhouettes and exaggerated poses is essential for conveying emotion clearly. By applying the 12 principles of animation, work is refined down to micro-expressions, adding subtlety to emotional subtext and secondary motivations.
In 3D, I utilize Maya and motion capture techniques, with final animations rendered in Maya, Marmoset, or output into Unreal Engine 5 for a complete cinematic toolset.
In 2D, I employ traditional animation methods in Toon Boom's Storyboard Pro and Harmony, streamlining the process to match professional pipelines. This includes developing storyboards, animatics, and full animations, all grounded in careful assessment and the application of concise narrative principles.
